Curious asked:
If we are to have mandatory health insurance, how will low income people pay for it? I’m already struggling with what little I have now. I can’t afford to take on anymore. I know we can still go to our doctor of choice but, but again how will we pay for this insurance?? Also I have never had any sort of medical insurance just for the fact I can’t afford any.

The intention is to provide federal subsidies of some sort to assist lower income people in purchasing health insurance. The details are not all worked out at this point, since the bill still needs approval in the Senate (which will undoubtedly challenge the House version.) Keep watching for the final result of the bill.

They are raising the income requirements for medicaid so you probably won’t be taxed any more and you probably won’t have to pay for your insurance either.
If you develop a serious illness how would you pay for that?
As it is now insurance companies can deny you insurance if your hair is too short.
You are the people who would benefit the most. It’s the ones who make over $500,000 who are gonna have to pay.

If you can’t afford it then you probably already qualify for state assistance through Medicaid.

It doesn’t go into effect for three more years, so you’ve got three years to find a better job!

Great question. Problem is no one knows the answer yet. Everyone is waiting for those details. That is why so many people are afraid of this health care bill. There are not enough details about it such as the important question that you asked.
